Year-Long Literacy Intervention Program

They Can't Sound Out "Said." And Sounding It Out Won't Help.

Your child isn't a struggling reader. They're stuck on words that don't follow phonics rules — said, does, could. This bundle builds the one skill sounding-out can't teach: recognizing them instantly, without stopping to guess.

Your child is bright. You've watched them work through a hard math problem, remember every detail of their favorite show, argue circles around adults twice their age. So why does reading feel like hitting a wall? Nothing is wrong. They're missing one specific skill — and it's one you can build in a few minutes a day, without becoming their full-time reading tutor.

Quick Definition

Wait — What's A "Dolch Word," Anyway?

Back in the 1930s and '40s, a researcher named Edward Dolch studied children's books to find out which words showed up over and over. He landed on 315 of them — words like the, is, run, going, funny — that make up roughly 50 to 75% of everything a young child reads.

These words are the glue holding every sentence together. A kid can know exactly what a "dinosaur" or "helicopter" is, but if they trip on were, from, or know, the whole sentence falls apart. Most of them are irregular, so phonics alone can't teach them — they have to be practiced until they're recognized instantly, like a face in a crowd, not a puzzle to solve.

That's the whole idea behind this program: stop treating these words like vocabulary to sound out, and start treating them like sight recognition to drill — in a format kids actually want to finish.

Read The Word. Reveal The Picture. No Way Around It.

Each square in the grid hides one word. Across all 11 themes, that's 100+ different mystery pictures to uncover — and every one works the same way: read the word, match the color, no coloring by random guess.

1

Print the set

Pick the month and hit print. Every set works through the complete 315-word Dolch list, Pre-Primer through 3rd grade, plus sight nouns.

2

Read and reveal

Word by word, color by color, the hidden picture appears — and it checks itself. If a shade looks off, you'll know exactly which word needs another look. No flashcards to grade after a long day at work.

3

Play to reinforce

The companion browser game drills the same words with audio pronunciation and progress that saves on its own. Nothing to install, nothing to configure.

Built-In Support

Not Every Kid Needs The Same Amount Of Help.

The Mystery Outline traces the picture's edges right onto the grid — a bit of visual scaffolding for kids who need it to feel confident getting started.

The Standard Page starts blank. No outline, no hints — just the words and the challenge, for kids ready to build the picture from scratch. Same words, same picture, same list. Nobody else has to know which version landed on their desk.

11 Themes. 100+ Mystery Pictures. One Whole Year, Planned.

Every set drills the complete 315-word list on its own — only the artwork and the pictures change with the season. Print whichever one matches the month on the calendar.

Built For The People Actually Doing This Work

Whichever seat you're doing this from, the same 315 words are waiting.

Classroom Teachers

Who need no-prep material that holds every student accountable, not just the ones paying attention.

Interventionists
